As seen here, our second resolution of 2013 is to work on collaborating w/some great design bloggers. When Arcadian Home contacted us, we jumped at the chance to have Mari post on our blog. This week has been crazy busy (Rachel networking nonstop & Jessica starting an internship at a graphic design firm) so luckily we have a guest post contribution that came at a perfect time. Now let’s get to it!
“Your Favorite Interior Color”
Hi, all! It’s Mari here from Arcadian Home blog, a fantastic place to find lots of decor inspirations. I’m so excited to be visiting CMYfabriK to share a guest post about using color in interior spaces. From floor to ceiling, at the window and on the door—color can make us happy, change our mood in an instant and bring a smile to our faces. Add a little pop of brilliant color with a glass pendant light in the corner or splash a rainbow of color across a massive piece of art—it’s so easy to infuse a room with your own unique personality.
Today, I’ve brought along images of rooms that illustrate eight of the limitless possibilities for bringing color into interiors. Please enjoy!
For those who love to be surrounded by soft feminine color, pink and gray just might be the perfect choice. A beautiful wallpaper pulls this whole room together.
Here again, gray and pink are used–same palette, entirely different look and feel. The room above is enveloped in color, while this one is white with a subtle focus on gray and pale pink.
For some, it’s all about deep moody color. This tiny sitting room is an awesome example of just how gorgeous dark stormy hues can be. Tiny pops of pink in the table decor are a brilliant contrast.
Always a favorite interior color, turquoise became even more popular when it was named 2010 Color of Year by Pantone. This space shows how that lovely blue hue can easily go light and airy when combined with silver or take on a solid grounded look with a deep chocolate brown.
Do you love pale neutrals? Here white, cream and pale coffee merge to create a beautiful and inviting living space.
As seen here, black (or navy) and white can create drama in a room. This one shows off a colorful twist with pink on the walls and brilliant green in the artwork and oversize buffet lamps.
Sherbet hues bring a tropical vibe to this traditional room. It’s the look of summer and cool drinks on the veranda. Altogether, it’s a lovely look.
In 2012, Tangerine Tango was Pantone’s Color of the Year and the interior design world embraced it with gusto. This bright color can bring a neutral space to life. Images 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8
