I haven’t had a new blog post in like a million years… really like 4 months but it feels like forever. I had my daughter in July and before that I was slowing down creatively in preparation of my “maternity leave” that I bestowed upon myself. After that little miracle I was way too busy feeding/cleaning/not sleeping/etc to even think about blogging. Now that she’s almost 3 months I’m finally mastered working in between her naps- overwhelming I know but I’m getting better at it. It’s funny to be able to call myself a Mompreneur, but that’s exactly what I am now. Balancing a baby in one arm while feeding her by holding the bottle with my chin, at the same time checking emails on my phone and designing on my IPad. Whew! Sound hectic? Yeah well it is, but I don’t think I’d have it any other way. It’s kind of like being a part of an awesome and scary club for Super Moms who do it all at home and rock things at work.
Now it’s time to get back on that creativity work horse, which I imagine looks like an awesome unicorn… Back into the blogging saddle, I say!
My goal as a working mother is to watch her full time while designing for clients. I can do this from home by specializing in Virtual Designing aka E-decor. Whatever you call it yourself, I know by doing this I’ll be able to keep the creative juices going by continuing to help people. I want everyone to truly love their homes, I’ll just be helping from farther away.
If you don’t know what Virtual Designing is, check out my explanation for it on our site. What kind of job or job off-shoot do you have in a creative field that allows you to stay home with the kid(s)?
